Passport – tick, international sim card – tick, camera – tick. But Don’t Forget the Travel Socks!
We love Australia but our beautiful country is just too far away from the rest of the world. We all know that means hours and hours AND HOURS on an aeroplane. The risk of developing Deep Vein Thrombosis, or just dealing with swollen legs and feet, can dampen the excitement of your overseas trip.
Now there is no excuse not to protect yourself and your friends and family from what can be a very serious problem. Bodyment has added the brilliant and inexpensive Traveno Sigvaris Travel Socks to our graduated compression hosiery range.
Traveno Socks are the travelling companions for even the most demanding legs. Manufactured in Switzerland by the highly respected Sigvaris company, you can have every confidence in the product.
Available in black or being for both men and women, the unisex Traveno Travel Socks offer comfort and security for even the longest journeys. Sitting for long hours without moving your legs too much is a definate No No on an aeroplane, a bus, a car or just at your desk. Always get up and move around when possible, wiggle your toes and rotate your ankles. or elevate your legs if possible. Drink more water (but less alcohol) to flush out the build up of toxins. All these things, along with your Medical Grade Traveno travel socks, will help keep the blood flowing as it should.
Also, Sigvaris Traveno socks are made from Meryl© Skinlife fabric which increases the breath-ability of the socks keeping you comfortable for longer. The fabric also helps prevent bacterial growth which keeps you fresher for longer as well. But more importantly, Sigvaris Traveno socks have been medically tested to ensure the correct amount of sustained graduated compression that your feet and legs need to prevent swelling and reduce the risk of DVT.
Our compression socks look good too for wearing under any trousers or jeans.

NOTE: Sharp nails and jewellery may damage your socks. Please remove jewellery or wear our hosiery gloves when putting on and taking off your travel socks. A ladder or whole in the sock will remove all compression. Also, do not cut off any loose threads as it may affect the knitted fabric.
The socks will feel tight – especially around the ankle, as they are designed to push the blood back up your legs.
HOW TO PUT ON YOUR SOCKS:
1. Sit down and roll one sock right to the toe with both hands. Position the toe and heel and then slide the sock up the leg as evenly as possible until you reach the knee. Repeat with the other leg.
2. Pull at the top to give your toes room to move.
3. Use compression gloves to smooth the material over your leg.
To keep the beneficial effects of your garment as long as possible, wash them by hand in lukewarm water, with mild detergent. Garments can be machine washed with Sigvaris washing solution, in a delicate fabrics bag, on a gentle cycle. Hand wash is recommended.
Press the stockings between two dry towels and lay them out to dry in a shady place with plenty of ventilation. Do not place on heaters/radiators. Do not wring, twist or peg them.
Human skin releases sweat, oil and skin cells. Thus, the silicone surface of the grip-top must be treated with particular care. Clean the silicone surfaces with Sigvaris Clean Pad from time to time for better grip.
Do not iron. Do not dry clean. Do not use chemicals.
Please note: compression garments need to be replaced every six months for continued support.
