Learn more about this product

Strataderm is the silicone gel for professional scar therapy that prevents abnormal and excessive scar formation, softens and flattens raised scars and reduces redness, discolouration and relieves itching and discomfort of existing scars in the form of hypertrophic scars and keloids.

Strataderm is a rapidly drying, non-sticky, transparent, silicone gel formulation  and is easily applied to all areas of the skin, including exposed areas like the face and neck as well as joints and hairy areas without need for shaving.

Strataderm dries to form a silicone gel sheet, a protective layer that is gas permeable and waterproof which hydrates, softens and protects your scar. Once dry, Strataderm can be covered with make-up, sunscreen or cosmetics.

  • Can be applied once daily, or twice daily to exposed areas, or as advised by your physician.
  • Developed for use on all types of scars including those resulting from general and cosmetic surgery, trauma, chronic wounds, burns or bites, acne and other diseases of the skin etc.
  • Suitable for people with sensitive skin and for children.
  • Suitable to use on infants, and on women during pregnancy and whilst breastfeeding.

Polydimethylsiloxanes, Siloxanes, alkylmethyl silicones

How much Strataderm do I need?
Strataderm does not soak into the skin, rather it dries to form a very thin layer that is less than the thickness of a piece of paper or as if you stretch a piece of household clingfilm over your skin.

This is why one tube of Strataderm goes a long way and usually lasts for a treatment of 90 days or more.

Choose the correct tube size for your treatment from the table below:

Strataderm gel size

Scar size, which can be treated with one tube
for over 90 days
5 g (0.17 oz) linear scar, 2–3 cm (1–2 inch) length
10 g (0.35 oz) linear scar, 5–7 cm (2–3 inch) length
20 g (0.7 oz) linear scar, 10–14 cm (4–5 inch) length
50 g (1.75 oz widespread scar, 6 × 12 cm, (2.5 × 5 inch) area
