Breast Reconstruction surgery is usually performed after a mastectomy or lumpectomy procedure. It recreates the breast shape by using one of a number of methods including tissue expansion or using your own tissue.
Lumpectomy is a surgical removal of a discrete portion or lump of breast tissue.
Lymphedema Surgery may be performed when non-invasive treatments like drainage and massage have not been successful. The affected lymphatic vessels may be removed or diverted with micro-surgery.
Mastectomy is the medical term for the surgical removal of one or both breasts, partially or completely. A mastectomy is usually carried out to treat breast cancer or as a preventative method.
Breast cancer is cancer that develops from breast tissue. Signs of breast cancer may include a lump in the breast, a change in breast shape, dimpling of the skin, fluid coming from the nipple, a newly-inverted nipple, or a red or scaly patch of skin. In those with distant spread of the disease, there may be bone pain, swollen lymph nodes, shortness of breath, or yellow skin.
Edema, also known as fluid retention or swelling, is the buildup of fluid in the body's tissue. Most commonly, the legs or arms are affected. Symptoms may include skin which feels tight, the area may feel heavy, and affected joints may be hard to move.
A hematoma is a collection of blood outside of a blood vessel.
Lymphedema causes swelling with a feeling of heaviness, tightness or fullness, usually in an arm or leg. In most cases, only one arm or leg is affected. Swelling in the leg usually begins at the foot, and then moves up if it worsens to include the ankle, calf and knee.
A seroma is a pocket of clear serous fluid that sometimes develops in the body after surgery. This fluid is composed of blood plasma that has seeped out of ruptured small blood vessels and the inflammatory fluid produced by injured and dying cells.

Hand wash or gentle cycle in (Bodyment Delight Cotton Machine Wash Bag) in Warm water using a mild soap. Air dry. Do not Dry Clean. Do not Tumble Dry. Do not Iron.

Fitting Notes:
- Please measure in centimetres.
- Do not pull the tape too tight.
- Ensure you measure the circumference ( AROUND ).
- Ensure you keep the tape horizontal.
